Fundraising

1st Combs Scout Group like many others is a totally self funded organisation. We rely on the charitable support of the local community to enable us to raise funds needed to run and equip the group.

1st Combs Scout Group has a few main fundraising events each year these are

Annual Duck Race

Every year in June we hold our duck race on Pikes Meadow in Combs Ford. We need lots of donations for the tombola and bric-a-brac so if you have anything that you think we could make use of please get in touch for details on where to donate, we would really appreciate it. To run our group we need to raise funds, the duck race is our main source of income and really important for our survival.

Chocolate Bingo

Following on from the success of previous Chocolate Bingo’s, it has now become a regular event we hold. It is a firm favourite with families as all the bingo prizes are chocolate based.

Quiz Nights & Race Nights

A couple of times a year we run Quiz & Race Nights to raise funds, with varying themes.

Christmas Bag Packing

Right before Christmas we partner with a local supermarket to offer our services to shoppers. Donations from this activity are normally used for subsidising the cost of a large activity the following year and are also shared with supermarkets charity of the year.
